Don Mattrick, former head honcho of Microsoft's Games studio wanted to leverage a bid for Zynga, in an attempt to shore up social games for the Xbox back in 2010. Bloomberg reports, however that negotiations fell through between Mattrick and Zynga founder Mark Pincus via sources close to the negotiations.
Don Mattrick is currently CEO of social games maker Zynga. His departure from Microsoft was in lieu of major cuts (18%) to the studio's workforce. Don Mattrick will receive $19.3 million in stocks and cash in his first year alone, as he settles into his new role at languishing Zynga.
