Over $944K fine handed to R4 distributors by Tokyo court
Nintendo, Square Enix, and other Japanese companies can rest easy, as a victory against two distributors of R4 has been reached in a long litigation battle, Nintendo announced today.
In the suit, a Tokyo court has ruled that the R4 distributiors based in Tokyo, must shell out 95,625,000 yen, or $944,966.25 USD in damages to over fifty companies, including Nintendo. Konami, Capcom, Level-5 and Bandai Namco are among some of the other Japanese companies involved in the suit.
Nintendo does not bat an eye in assuring an above modest crackdown on other R4 flashcart sellers.
