Imagine PlayStation Home on PlayStation 4

Now that the PS4 is out in the wild, there's no sign of PlayStation Home on the console but we cannot rule out the possibility. It's rumored to land on the the console but what would it be like on the next generation console? Some things don't work, true and as an ambitious project to begin with, it was sure to have it's ups and downs. I see a wild world out there on Sony's next generation console. You know, Pokemon?

Why the PS4's blue light of death is a boon for the Xbox One

While the PlayStation 4 just released a few days ago, there are rumors! Yes rumors! We all love to gossip and it's contagious, but there comes a day when  we'll have to separate fact from fiction. Searching a number of retailers, there is a reported blue light of death. It's real. Who comes up with these names? Tell me that.

Next generation and innovation

When fans think next generation, the PS4 and Xbox One spring to mind. And, the Wii U, as that qualifies to fans as well. And, when innovation is mentioned  — it's averse to, praised, warranted and opposed — all at the same time. Although, innovation can ring true, with new jobs and opportunities in abundance.

Yet it does queue up thoughts of mobile devices or the computer industries. If we cannot envision as the futurist does, we fail to have deep insight into shortcomings. What would be better than for innovation to shine through as glorious as day? Additionally, we've learned that innovators are difficult to emulate.

Interview: How to get your wife into video games II

When I wrote my first article for coupdegracecdg.com, entitled: How to Get Your Wife into Video Games, I wanted to tackle an argument I've always thought to be nonsensical. In the process of writing up that article, I culled statistics from the NPD group, proving otherwise.

Thus, the theme of the article revolved, not around how to get your wife into video games, but that she may already be into the same video games you play. In this follow-up, I interview a PS3 female video gamer: HIZ_ADDICTION, whose had years of experience —playing video games.

Patching up your overflowing video game collection

I tackle unopened video games and look into some of the reasons some video games go unplayed. Even if you opened up the case, you'd play it for a couple hours, then shelf it. It didn't hurt anyone to know about the extravagance of your video game spending. While, just last year, I dropped close to $400 on video games alone.

The video games are a lie

My memories lay on the shelf —tattered —with the old wintery emotions — the old self-fulfilling prophecies. Further, my favorite past time is getting lost in these uncharted video game worlds, without needing to justify it. Unhealthy as that may sound, it was a profound occurrence.

You've been reading while I was on the john 7/7

It's that time of the week again. So, what have you been reading this week? First, find out if the Last of Us Survival edition is worth the price of entry here: "Save You Sum Money: Is The Last of Us Survival Edition Worth It?" Oh, it's worth it. Second: "The Man Behind the PS4:Mark Cerny" is an article dedicated to a man passionate about video games. Even moreso than you are. Third, do you get nostalgic at the sight of this article: "Microsoft and Sony Set Up Shop at E3; Nintendo Cancels." I do too. Fourth, is it too much to ask for a decent video game 8 out of 10 times: "Developers and publishers, these five recent games are rubbish." And, lastly: "The Marvelous Feats of DC Universe" is an article profiling DC Universe -- an exciting and fresh MMO for the PS3 and PC. You're a gem, and I love you like a sibling. All that said, tune in next week. You know where my butt will be parked.

Video Game Grooves: "One Winged Angel" - Nobuo Uematsu

Final Fantasy VII spanned many territories, and emotional horizons and peaks. The game took us into the heart, and imagination of its production. Thus, One Winged Angel resonates with us, and it does so powerfully; if not profoundly. After you've defeated the first stage of Sephiroth's transformation, at the close of the game, you face Safer Sephiroth, a more formidable Sephiroth transformation. Its an epic song that never dulls the senses, and is a standout track because in the lyrics, there is a probe into Sephiroth's suffereing, and plight as the embodiment of the planet's Mako energy. An arduous mission he undertakes.

So, what more could we want from a unique game, but a unique track. One Winged Angel is it. Taking ques from Rock and orchestra music, the song encapsulated the struggle Cloud faced against Sephiroth the entire game. It is unflinchingly remembered and repeated. Being inspired by the Psyco theme, the track was an experimental one. And it wasn't planned to be as eventful as it was.

Developers and publishers, these five recent games are rubbish

Do you get the feeling that your voice isn't being heard? It isn't. Video game developers, your games give off a foul odor that pervades to the heavens above, and you know it. It's not atypical of developers, or publishers to put out low budget games. It's a move that I detest. My scenario, like others starts off with a game. I've slithered upon this game, believing that this will be an ample experience.
