Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Patriots Coming to Next-Gen

Ubisoft's squad-based shooter, Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Patriots is making the jump to next-gen platforms. According to reports from IGN, Ubisoft's senior VP Tony Key had this to say:

"Rainbow 6 got caught in the transition of going to next-gen and essentially we're figuring out ‘well, are we making the right game for the right hardware systems? Sometimes you have to take a step back and go ‘you know, I'm seeing the possibilities, but it's gonna take more time.'"

Developed by Ubisoft's Montreal Studio, Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Patriots was first reported to release for the PS3, 360, and PC. Yet, development on the game hit a snag. As, four key people on the development team were removed last year. In addition, Gamestop has removed the game from its databases; cancelling pre-orders. A "target" trailer was released in 2011, detailing gameplay mechanics. Furthermore, the game takes place in New York City, where the Rainbow team are called to. They must stop a militia group, calling themselves the Patriots.
