Producer, Ken Yeelo spoke with Gamasutra, explaining why this partnership took place, in which he said that the two companies share similar values in developing gameplay-centric titles.
"There are a lot of benefits to working with a first party. Nintendo's great. They give you the time to make the games good," stated Yeelo.
"They've done really well -- the Wii's done really well, the DS has done really well, the Wii U is not the strongest start but we trust that they'll come up with something to get it going, and the 3DS was a blast to work on."
The Vancouver based studio, founded in 2002, has long since developed titles for Nintendo, and these include Punch-Out!, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon and Transformers: Cybertron Adventures for the Wii.
